The crown jewel of female Canadian county artists, Michelle Wright is shining as bright as ever. She has a new name for her fan club, The  Wrighteous, along with a brand new single, ‘Laugh a Little’ now being released to radio. “It’s a very exciting time for me and I couldn’t be happier. There are  a lot of good things going on and I have the best and most loyal fans in the world and calling them TheWrighteous just seemed to fit. I love them all so much and am so grateful they allow me to do what I love to do and appreciate and support me. They are Wrighteous.”Make no mistake Michelle Wright is not a legacy artist resting on her past hits but is always writing and recording new music. “I am so blessed to be in this business and love staying current with my music and feel better now than I have ever felt.”

A little history for those of you unfamiliar with this talented artist, Michelle signed with Arista/Nashville in 1990 and released her first U.S. album, the self titled Michelle Wright, the same year. The U.S. country audiences loved her and called her “that girl singer from up North with the snow in her videos.” Her first single, “New Kind Of Love”, became her first Top Thirty American hit. While working on her second CD for Arista, it became  apparent that Michelle would need  to spend most of her  time in Nashville and so, in 1991, she relocated to Tennessee where she still lives today. The album Now & Then was released in 1992, and gave Michelle a Top Ten U.S. hit and Number One video at CMT, ‘Take It Like A Man.’That was such an exciting time for me and for country music.”

In 1993 the Academy of Country Music named Michelle its Top New Female Vocalist and Michelle catapulted to superstardom in Canada the same year, receiving a total of twelve music industry awards, including the Canadian Country Music Association’s Fans’ Choice Entertainer of  The Year Award and double platinum honours for Now & Then. The momentum generated by her next release (The Reasons Why in 1994) enabled Michelle to headline a triumphant forty‐city Canadian concert tour during the first quarter of 1995, at that time the most extensive tour in the history of the country music business in Canada. She hosted the 1995 Canadian Country Music Awards and finished the evening in grand style, receiving her second award as the CCMA’s Fans’ Choice Entertainer of The Year.

In the new millennium Michelle completed her first Australian concerts, a trip to Afghanistan in 2006 to perform for the Canadian and NATO troops serving there, performed her annual Christmas tour I’m Dreaming of a Wright Christmas (now a seasonal tradition) and performances during 2009 in the United Kingdom and France. In 2010, the Canada‐wide unveiling of her “Wright Songs” touring concept, which presents Michelle in an intimate acoustic setting. Michelle Wright up close, personal and unplugged.

From the time she started out as a young girl to the present day, Michelle has steadily grown into a world class entertainer and has collected a trophy room full of awards to prove it. Her career is such that opportunity continually blesses her.

Michelle Wright is one of Canada's most recognizable country voices and "Laugh A Little" marks her  return to radio following her 2013 and 2014 nominations in the CCMA’s Female Artist of the Year category, This song has hit written all over it. The production is full with great dynamics and clean separation. The vocal is classic Michelle Wright; strong, confident and believable while the message of the song is one of hope. As Michelle said, “With everything that’s going on in the world today , I love the message of  this song. Let’s all live, love and laugh a little. We all have a lot to be thankful for.”
