Ghost in The Machine is launching The Rockin’ Winter Blues Series scheduled to start November 5, 2015 at the famous Rockpile, 5555 Dundas Street West in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The kickoff of the monthly Blues series will feature Canadian Blues Legend, Jack de Keyzer. de Keyser has twice won the prestigious Juno Award, Canada's highest musical honour, and seven times received Maple Blues Awards including Blues Album of the Year in 2000 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. Real Blues Magazine crowned him Live Act of the Year in 2001, and has twice named him Guitarist of the Year.

The lineup for the first show is impressive, besides Jack de Keyzer ,The Blues Time featuring Alishan Hagopian and Frank Cosentino will perform as well as Jerry Johnson featuring Steve Negus on drums, Flash Teeter and the Men From Mars featuring rising star Paul "Flash" Teeter and the fabulous Max Brand.

Cashbox Canada Magazine caught up with promoter Sean Armstrong from Ghost in The Machine Promotions. “I was truly inspired by a conversation I had with Cindy Shibley Koury, who has a great reputation for promoting blues shows. She told me there needed to be a blues event in the West End of Toronto. So we hatched the plan for a way for seasoned veterans in the blues scene as well as newcomers to be able to perform for small audiences in a good music venue. The vision for this series is to make it a seasonal event that shows what a great brotherhood the blues scene is, and maybe some young players can benefit from these shows. It’s a way to teach musicians how to become a community again, lead by example. I am excited to create marketing and promotion plans to make this series an ongoing success.”

The shows objective is to not only be bring you some of the best the Toronto blues music scene has to offer but in doing so be able to give back by donating a portion of the proceeds from each of our shows to a good cause. They say it ‘takes a village’ and in honour of Movember the production will be donating funds from the premiere show to Men's Health Awareness.

Don't miss it folks! This is going to be an epic series with many of our Blues Greats getting on board with their talents, with every minute the news is out there.

The Blues community in Toronto is a strong and vibrant collective so if want help keep blues alive come on out and support the cause. Warm up the cold winter months with some hot licks and great blues performances.

More details on future shows in the series will be made public in the coming month.
