The Gift That Keeps On Giving

By Natasha Slinko

Four incredibly diverse and multi-talented gentlemen - Victor Micallef, Remigio Pereira, and Fraser Walters and their newest member Clifton Murray, come together to form The Canadian Tenors. Each performer has diversified musical experience, various backgrounds and perspectives in their training, yet when they sing together in their four-part harmony, it is truly magic.

The Canadian Tenors originally stole the hearts of people world-wide with their debut album entitled The Canadian Tenors, with tracks such as ‘We Were Born to Shine’ and ‘Your Moment Is Here’. With the release of the Christmas CD The Perfect Gift, they will continue to capture the hearts of their audience.

The wing back chairs shuffle and the conversation was on two things, #1 chicken beef or fish as the vested waiters fought to get the food drop done before the curtain call and “yes, I thinks that’s him ,could it be ,why is he here?” was #2 as the blue rinsed haired guests and their spouse argued over meals and the familiar gentlemen sitting at Table 5.

They had driven in for miles to relive their youth and see Elvis, Buddy Holly and even Marilyn live on stage!! Tribute shows were the hit of the dinner theatre business, with the ever popular legend style shows, pulling in the fans of music gone by for the chance to have one last glimpse of their youth and fond memories of their Top 10 tunes.

The power of music is hearing another’s heart, another’s thoughts, communicated in a way that touches you from the inside. Music bares our innermost thinking, and in doing so, we relate to someone else's experience, pain, and joy. Through this we separate ourselves, for just a moment, from the everyday challenges of this life and fully enjoy the simple things that this life has afforded us. Jason Rogers can touch your heart and your soul with his music, lyrics and soothing vocals.

Born in Eastern Canada, Rogers came from a community where neighbours, music and the simple life was the way of life. Growing up in a rural environment, his influences were the surrounding activities of hunting, fishing and adventures with nature. Rogers still has that attitude and it reflects in his music and song.
