CRASH KARMA Signs with E1 Music Canada

CRASH KARMA’s Debut Single “Awake” Top 10 with a bullet on Canadian Rock Chart

Toronto, ON – E1 Music Canada announced today the signing of CRASH KARMA with plans to release the group’s debut CD on March 16, 2010 to coincide with a national tour.

CRASH KARMA’s members are no stranger to success, consisting of former I Mother Earth singer Edwin, ex-Our Lady Peace guitarist Mike Turner, The Tea Party drummer Jeff Burrows and former Zygote member Amir Epstein. All of these respective groups notched up high record sales, multiple Juno and MuchMusic Video Awards and became household names. “Awake” is, of course, a perfectly appropriate title for the debut single.

The self-titled disc was recorded at Toronto's Pocket Studios and produced by Turner, and came together on what started their own respective bands – dreams and great songs. “What brought us all together was my undertaking,” says Epstein. “I was hoping that these guys wanted to play together in a band with me. I originally approached Edwin to write with him on his next album, and it turned into me asking him to join the band. I used Mike and Jeff as my lure, without really speaking to either one of them. I guess you can say I was optimistic. I went on to approach Mike. I spoke to him and asked him to join, using Edwin and Jeff as my lure. I finally spoke with Jeff, we all met, and I guess you can say that the rest is history.”

And how to describe CRASH KARMA? The group slyly writes on their Facebook page, “It’s sound waves that make love to your ear (even when you’re not in the mood).”

“We watched this group make their own record independently, and take it top 10 on their own. We hope to do as well with the album as they’ve been doing and are incredibly excited by this opportunity,” says Greg Pappas, General Manager of E1 Music Canada.
