Canadian popsters Girl Pow-R are once again set to inspire the masses with another stirring and encouraging release, “This Is Us” — available now!

Hot on the heels of this year’s early success “Never Let Go” — which debuted on the iTunes Canada Children’s chart at #2 (second only to cultural force “Baby Shark” but ahead of genre mainstays such as Sharon, Lois & Bram, The Wiggles, and Raffi), and #15 in the U.S. — “This Is Us” comes in the midst of back-to-back-(to-back!) Canadian and U.S. summer tour stops.

With lyrics like “passionate for some change,” “take our message, shout it out,” and “we won’t be pushed around, we are strong, we are proud,” the latest song from the all-girl supergroup continues to embody their core mission of banding together and uplifting their peers.

They’re also advocating for their personal list of social causes, which include working with charities on behalf of anti-war and stopping violence, SickKids, the Toronto Humane Society and SPCA, the Give and Restore Hope Children’s Charity, mental health awareness, WE Movement, Food4Kids, anti-bullying, and raising awareness for the occurrence of strokes in minors — a scenario that personally afflicted Girl Pow-R member Maya during a dance class in 2017.

The all-encompassing message of helping each other, and their communities-at-large, continue, to be dear to their hearts: Girl Pow-R has been seen around Canadian cities as of late inviting audience-members and passersby to write on their signature #GirlPowRment #Wall. “We started as a group by writing messages about friendship, acceptance and support that we find inspiring,” says the band. “We really enjoy seeing what other girls and women add messages to other people all around the world!”

In continuing their inspirational mission of spreading confidence and kindness, Girl Pow-R — as seen on Breakfast Television, CP24, SiriusXM, YTV, TVO Kids, CityTV, eTalk Canada, Girls’ Life, Tiger Beat, J-14, Celeb Secrets, Fresh 95.3 and more — are hoping their debut and imminently forthcoming album This Is Us will encourage girls to stay confident in their individuality and avoid the pitfalls of peer pressure and online influence in today’s hyper-digital age.

With members ranging in age from 10 - 17, Girl Pow-R’s greatest strength lies in the diversity in their ages, backgrounds and life experiences. The universal things that join them together, however, are dynamic skill sets and a shared mission of empowerment among young women in the world today.

// ABOUT GIRL POW-R
Having symbolically formed on International Women’s Day 2017, the roster of talented singers, songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and dancers grows each passing year.

Since starting, the group have won a Family Channel singing competition, as well as nominations for Niagara Music Awards’ ‘Best New Group’ and a Toronto Independent Music Award. Having performed more than 150 shows in the last two+ years alone, they were hand-picked to re-create the Mysticons theme song, and have appeared on Breakfast Television, CP24, SiriusXM, Fresh 95.3, YTV, TVO Kids, CityTV, eTalk Canada, Girls’ Life, Tiger Beat, J-14, Celeb Secrets, Stage Right Secrets, Geek Girl Riot, and more.
