A MESSAGE FROM FESTIVAL DIRECTOR BRIAN GLADSTONE
Winterfolk XVIII is celebrating its18th birthday and its move west from the city’s east end, to Toronto’s historic Annex neighbourhood.
More than 150 artists will perform on five stages in two venues during the annual 3-day festival on February 21-23, 2020. Three of the stages are in the culturally significant Tranzac Club, an accessible venue on Brunswick Avenue just south of Bloor Street, with a 1960s coffeehouse atmosphere.
We’re thrilled that two Winterfolk’s stages are in the beautiful Annex Hotel, just steps away from the Tranzac. One of the hotel’s Winterfolk stages will be located in the hotel’s Cafe and Wine Bar, a tranquil room with a modern minimalist design and a glowing warmth.
Shareable plates are on the menu, along with cocktails and a wine list curated by a local sommelier. Winterfolk acts will also be presented in the hotel’s more intimate room, the Annex Commons. We’re looking forward to bringing the talented artists of Winterfolk, both audience favourites and exciting new performers, to the Annex this February.
This year's combined celebration affirmed what we in Toronto have long recognized – that this city has an unwavering commitment to music excellence.
