The first single on the Canadian singer-songwriter’s upcoming album, Phanerorhyme, “Don’t Look To Me” combines a catchy chorus and up-tempo melody with lyrics that describe someone very ready to move on from their significant other.

“Here we are stuck in old routine
I’ve had enough, do you know what I mean
You call me lover, you call me friend
I tell you I’m broken, you ask me to bend”

“This song has a different feel to a lot of my other songs. There is the subject matter, which is not my normal songwriting style. I don't really do news-oriented or protest songs, but also, we added strings to create different effects and add emotional depth,” Horovitz says. And he delivers.

“A thousand bodies buried shallow, never deep,” he begins. It’s a line that sets the tone for the entire track. Horovitz is ready to sing the truth - no matter how uncomfortable the truth in the lyrics makes you feel.

The latest single from the Toronto-based artist’s debut album, Free Times, out April 8th, 2022, Horovitz draws on his literary inspirations and personal experience to deliver music with meaningful messages easily transmissible across social boundaries. As Horovitz puts it,  the album — including “Free Tonight” — “is a carefully curated collection of stories about love, loss, and life.”

The lead single in advance of Horovitz’s forthcoming debut album, Free Times, due in early 2022, “Moving On” takes the ‘moving’ part of its title — moving, as in high energy — very seriously. The Toronto-based singer-songwriter calls this jubilant stomper “an upbeat folk-pub song about the moment you’re no longer heartbroken”; think The Lumineers plus a few beers.
