Today, emerging Canadian pop artist Olivia Penalva, announces an expanded version of her latest album Spiderwebs (Deluxe), slated for release on July 5th via all streaming platforms.

Earlier this year, Olivia made a triumphant return with Spiderwebs, an incredible collection of 11 emotive tracks. The deluxe version will feature two additional songs that further explore themes of romance, heartbreak, and the complexities of human connections through Olivia’s powerful vocals and relatable lyrics.

All the songs were written or co-written by Olivia and takes listeners on an emotive journey through the highs and lows of love and self-discovery. Produced by Ryan Stewart (Carly Rae Jepsen, Simple Plan), the new tracks are entitled “Bad” and “You’ve Got Yourself To Blame (For The Way I Love You).”

“You’ve Got Yourself To Blame (For The Way I Love You)” showcases Olivia’s stunning vocal capabilities paired with the sounds of delicate piano and guitar strings in a driving, cathartic track about the consuming feeling of falling in love.

Olivia Penalva Spider Webs““You’ve Got Yourself To Blame (For The Way I Love You),” sums up a lot of the themes on this album, which is why I wanted to include it. This is a heartfelt song about letting someone know that they are to blame for falling in love, because now you live for their gaze," said Olivia Penalva. "The album explores themes of grief and loss, and this song felt like the perfect addition, reminding me that the same people who make us feel our best can also leave us feeling our worst.”

"Bad" is an emotional ballad with reflective lyricism that describes the struggle and yearning for love, even when it may be unrequited. It expresses a willingness to do anything for the person you have fallen for, even if they may never reciprocate. This is a special track for Olivia as it is the first song she wrote with sister, Alexandra Penalva.

Since the release of her debut single at the age of 13, Olivia has evolved into a versatile artist and songwriter. Boasting over 25 million streams to date and several Top 20 radio hits, she has quickly joined the ranks of Canada’s rising pop stars.

In 2021, Olivia earned herself a Top 20 spot on Canadian radio for her hit single “Love Me” which then became the #2 most-added song at CHR Mediabase. Her following single “Ex’s” also hit the Top 20 on CHR and Hot AC radio in Canada, and was Olivia’s foray into US radio, earning her a Top 50 slot on mainstream pop radio.
