Alexandr Misko builds machines out of wood and steel string, and then he plays them like nothing else exists. The German-based guitarist, composer and arranger is loading up his self designed Frankenstein Guitar for a sprawling run of North American dates this fall, carrying the sound of his latest album, 'Final Boss,' from small listening rooms to concert halls across the United States and Canada.

Misko's playing has always lived at the intersection of melody, percussion and invention. He began on classical guitar at twelve before discovering modern fingerstyle online and building his technique independently, eventually developing the Frankenstein Guitar, an instrument modified to let him tap, strike and detune his way through arrangements that sound closer to a full band than a single player. That approach carried his early tapping compositions to more than a million views, and his arrangements of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and George Michael's "Careless Whisper" have since reached tens of millions of listeners worldwide.

'Final Boss,' released in April, pushes that instrument even further, folding in detuning, percussion and cinematic force across a fully instrumental record tracked in Tubingen, Germany. The album's single, "Intergalactic March," gives listeners the clearest window into how Misko thinks as a storyteller without a single lyric to lean on. He describes the piece as a standoff between a colossal, industrial machine tearing through galaxies and a lone hero, quiet but determined, who dares to stop it. Misko builds that tension using a prepared guitar technique, weaving a CD between the strings of the Frankenstein Guitar to generate the track's metallic, otherworldly texture, a trick he has refined over years of live performance to the point where he now swaps in a Star Wars DVD for the effect.

Misko's rise has drawn attention well beyond the fingerstyle guitar community. MusicRadar named him Guitarist of the Year in 2018, and in 2020 he performed at Carnegie Hall alongside harpist Alexander Boldachev, launching a long running collaboration between the two instruments. His work has also crossed paths with composer Hans Zimmer, a connection that speaks to the cinematic instincts running through Misko's own writing.
This tour puts that catalogue on full display, moving from intimate listening rooms like Club Passim in Cambridge and The Spot on Kirk in Roanoke to landmark stages including New York's The Cutting Room, Denver's Swallow Hill Music and a headline stop at the Woodstock Fingerstyle Guitar Festival. Popular demand has already added a second Port Moody show at the Inlet Theatre and back-to-back sets at Saskatoon's The Capitol Music Club, with two additional performances scheduled in Seattle.
