Music has always been a part of my life and it is in everything around us. We all have falling in love songs, wedding songs, breakup songs, sad songs, happy songs and the ones that make you want to rock. I could say I have been working for decades in the music industry, but I truly don’t know if I would call it work.

My mission with Cashbox Canada for the last 15 years has been to honour the legacy artists and to give the indie artists a chance to be heard. Whatever country, language or genre the origin of the song is from, I truly believe that music has no borders. I still love hearing new artists and the songs that were the musical tapestry of my life.

But there would not be a Cashbox Canada without the amazing team that works behind the scenes to bring our readers, friends and fans a weekly eclectic mix of music offerings.

Cashbox Cover Design & Graphic Artist:
Jain McMillan

The reason we look so great is this talented graphic designer who brings the weekly covers to life. Jain has a knack for capturing that little bit extra to create award-worthy graphics. We are blessed to have her at the helm and legacy artists love her work so much with the covers, that they use them in their PR campaigns. Jain is also the creative talent behind the ONES show. If you are a Beatles fan this is one you won’t want to miss. If you are not a Beatles fan you will be after seeing this show. onesshow.com/

Web Developer & Technical Support
Chris Wardman:

Truly a multi-talented man, who wears so many hats you are sure to have seen his name over the years.

Producer & Artist (Blue Peter is one of my favourites) and now living in “Brigadoon” in British Columbia, Chris is the glue that keeps us online and looking so amazing. He even allows me access to get in the back end of Cashbox Canada and muddle about every week. He is a ‘behind the scenes’ kinda guy, but I could not do the magazine without him.

“As another year draws to a close it’s time to recap and embrace what was accomplished and learn from the missteps of the past twelve months. The good far outweighs the bad and it’s time to be grateful to still do what I love and what I was created to do. A fresh page waits with new places, people and music waiting for me. More great stories to come from yours truly in Cashbox Canada. Onward!

“It’s been an amazing year for me, traveling Coast to Coast promoting the release of the MuchMusic film. Seeing old friends, fans and making new ones. The premiere of 229 Queen St. East the Much Music Film, I toured across Canada twice hosting festivals, Khatsahlano Festival Vancouver, singing with HB Wilde in Vancouver, LMT Connection in Toronto. Looking forward to touring next year's music and lecture tour, new films, radio, TV and writing for Cashbox Canada. Merry Christmas and the best of the Holiday Season!”

“It was a year filled with “guts and glory” as they say, reclaiming myself and my music. Working with Chris Birkett, a super producer and arranger we created my first original music EP. It was such a joy to host my first radio show with Cashboxradio.ca, “Songs from the Heart”. Then the dream of singing at “LillabyFestivalen” in Sweden with the legendary Janne Schaffer resulted in finding a writing partner, Jonas Gideon. These creative projects developed through my relationship with Sandy Graham and her team, and I am so grateful. She singlehandedly helped me get through this personally challenging year, and I look forward to contributing as a writer to Cashbox and Record World Magazines as the realm of joyous possibilities unfolds.

Dan McConomy
What a year it has been! I was on tour, spent time in the studio producing, continuing to DJ in Paris, and started working in the movie industry writing and co-producing upcoming releases. I also had the pleasure of interviewing and writing a story on Brock Pytel whom I managed in my Montreal days in the music industry when he was in The Doughboys. I am looking forward to writing more reviews and conducting interviews in 2024, and to working in both France and Canada – more on that in the near future. Merry Christmas and Joyeux Noel!

I'm so happy to be joining the team at Cashbox Canada. After a 40-plus year career in media, I look forward to reviewing concerts and doing feature pieces. Stay tuned for stories soon! I wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a safe and healthy 2024.

Fiona Lawson
Our team travels the world on panels and events. Fiona Lawson has been with us in Europe but as well she is the one who covers all our great country events at summer festivals as well as the CCMA's and CMAO events.  Her photographs capture truly candid shots and artists personally love her work. We are proud to have Fiona with Cashbox Canada.

On behalf of myself and the whole Team we all thank you! Without the artists, PR people, and our faithful readers, there would be no Cashbox Canada!
