Now heading into our 17th year of publication, I know I always say this, but now more than ever, I need to acknowledge the Cashbox Team.

Chris Wardman, you have literally been with me since day 1 when we had a coffee 17 years ago and planned to roll out the first Cashbox Canada.  You are the backbone that helps me turn out a weekly publication, daunting but so rewarding. I couldn’t do it without you.

Jain McMillan, your beautiful graphics and well researched cover art has become a mainstay to our look and keeps the tradition of the original Cashbox Magazine holding up that standard. You are an inspiration and a major part of what makes us look so amazing and our readers look forward to seeing what you have created that week.

Don Graham, thank you for all those up close and in-depth interviews that always end up with the feedback of the artists saying they felt so comfortable that it was like talking to an old friend. Your feedback on who we pick as covers and features has been invaluable to me over the years.

Michael Williams, you are the man about town, always going out and seeing live shows and finding those gems for us to cover along with your history and love of the legendary music. Thank you for all the wonderful stories you have covered over the years.

Lisa Hartt,  thank you for finding those special stories to feature it is what makes Cashbox Canada, well, Cashbox Canada. I look forward to what you will write about in 2025, and I welcome you as our newest journalist with your fine talent of capturing the artist’s point of view in words.

Personal Thoughts from the Cashbox Team:

It's been such a fun ride and a great opportunity to promote both Canadian and international artists. Thankful to Sandy for taking this on for the last 16 years!

2024 has been another year of really great music and what better way to be a part of the music community than to give back by designing the weekly covers for Cashbox Canada! The magazine promotes and supports so many wonderful artists, and I am proud to be a part of it. Can’t wait to get designing more covers in January! All the best to everyone for a prosperous and healthy new year filled with the joy of music!

As 2024 draws to a close, it’s time to give a shout out to the year of Cashbox Canada Magazine and all it has contributed to artists and readers alike. I have been fortunate to be a contributor to Cashbox Canada for the past 16 years. It’s been an honour to get to talk to and interview established legacy artists and new artists finding their way. Cashbox Canada is an avenue for artists to get global exposure and reach an audience they normally not have access to. Here’s to many more years of  Cashbox Canada Magazine and it’s tireless pursuit of promoting music on a global level.

Another year of success, heralding, independent music and artist across Canada and around the world through Cashbox Canada and Cashbox Radio. This is one of the few independent magazines that supports independent artists and projects across Canada and I’m proud to be a part of Cashbox Canada and look forward to a great 2025. Have a wonderful and safe holiday season no matter what you’re celebrating and with whom, just celebrate and be safe. See you next year.

We have all lived through some very tough times together, COVID, shutdowns, lack of monetary support but this team has always covered great stories of the legendary artists who still deserve ‘ink’ and new indie artists who show their gratitude that someone is actually listening to their music.

We have sadly watched so many our legendary artists passed on this year, as well as some of our close friends and colleagues here in the Canadian music business. We have watched bars close, people retire and many businesses just give up so once again I express my gratitude for the fact Cashbox Canada is still going strong.

Through it all we have always had music and they say that music keeps us all connected so thank you to all the artists, songwriters and publicists who have made that possible.  I thank you for allowing us to become Canada’s #1 On Line-Premiere Music Magazine.
