As the unpredictability of this new world continues to spiral, London, Ontario-based Pop/R&B vocal quartet The McAuley Boys are back to remind us about the importance of family and human connection with their uplifting new single “I Can’t Wait To See You Smile” – check it out on YouTube here:

Real-life brothers Gary, George, Mark, and Randy McAuley deliver a silky-smooth auditory experience with “I Can’t Wait To See You Smile” while reckoning with the cold new reality forced upon us by the polarizing global pandemic. George McAuley captures the spirit of the music when he says, “It’s a timeless song that has a far-reaching sentiment. We need more smiling and more love in our world today…and always.”

The irresistible charm of “I Can’t Wait To See You Smile” finds its origins in a demo assembled by Mark and Randy. Once those foundations were laid, an assortment of harmonic embellishments were applied to bring the song to life. As Gary McAuley puts it, “With a song like this, it really comes together when we get into the studio to do the record.  Harmonizing and layering the background vocals is always a treat!”

The message of the song is inspired by Mark McAuley’s spiritual journey through the pandemic. “The world slowed down and then stopped, and it gave us some time to reflect and think about the things that are most important to us.”

Putting family and art above all else, Mark draws on the connection with his daughter, Malia, and a perfect stranger named Richard, to make an emotional statement about the profound nature of human kindness. “This song is for Malia and Richard and for all the people who put light in our lives with their smiles; that simple human gesture that says: “I see you” and “everything is going to be alright.”

Audiences are instantly hypnotized by the stellar vocal work and balanced melodies on “I Can’t Wait To See You Smile,” a song brimming with hope and lyrics that represent the emotional shift needed as we begin to reconnect in society after so much isolation.

“There's always something driving me down this lonely road
No matter where I go, I'm always close to home
You're never farther than a heartbeat away from me
And you should know that no one can take that away from me
And there's nowhere in this world I'd rather be”

The brilliantly produced lyric video is also a serene accompaniment reflecting the optimistic aesthetic that The McAuley Boys are trying to bring more of into the world.

The McAuley Boys celebrate their latest single in the wake of a long and successful career. Their 1997 JUNO Award-nominated album “In Another Lifetime,” along with their biggest hit, a cover of the Gibb Brothers' "I Just Want To Be Your Everything," took them around the world and back. From charting singles to the performance of the Canadian National Anthem at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Jacobs Field in Cleveland, Ohio, The McAuley Boys have always had an undeniable talent for hits.

As the world unmasks and begins to return to normal, The McAuley Boys will continue to use their music to uplift, inspire, and foster a world where everyone is encouraged to exercise the power of a smile.
