Beaming out of the Niagara region with relentless positivity and excitement comes adult-contemporary act Giancarlo & The Scarfones with an electric track that evokes the upbeat grooves of the 70s with their latest single, “Take The Money” – Check it out on YouTube here:

The catchy new single appears on the sophomore album “Frame Of Mind,” an expertly produced collection of songs from Giancarlo & The Scarfones that cleverly utilizes a myriad of bright sounds with thematic purpose. Produced at Groundloop Studios in Ridgeway, Ontario, tightly crafted horn sections, sweeping strings, and a cacophony of musical embellishments expand an already diverse soundscape.

Giancarlo & The Scarfones emulates a certain vibe on “Take The Money” and harnesses distinctive harmonic principles to achieve a musically satisfying result. As the band maintains, “Take The Money was written as a love letter to the music of the 70s with a deep focus on horn arrangements and an undeniable melodic/lyrical hook.” The track’s energy celebrates the preciousness of life and is a beacon of sonic optimism in a world still reeling from the pandemic.

“Take The Money” makes you just want to skip the office and hit the beach with an uplifting message about taking chances and appreciating life’s special moments no matter what age.

“Back then as kids we didn't have it hard
Running and playing
Hopping fences in the farmer's yard
Upon that hill we were emperors of Rome.”

The 2022 album “Frame Of Mind” is the follow-up to Giancarlo & The Scarfones’ 2019 debut album “Carousel,” had the band winning multiple Niagara Music Awards, including Best New Group, right out of the gate. While “Frame Of Mind” began as a four-song EP to be released in the summer of 2020, it became an original collection of music assembled and produced throughout the pandemic.

“Frame Of Mind” represents a rhythmic evolution of the pop-inspired soft-rock melodies that Giancarlo & The Scarfones are known for. The latest album release continues the band’s signature approach to music with soaring vocals and timeless harmonies reminiscent of the AM Gold radio days.

The band came together when Giancarlo Feltrin connected with friends/collaborators the Scarfone brothers, after returning home from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Starting as a retro cover band, Giancarlo & The Scarfones began covering 70s legends like ELO, Elton John, and the Bee Gees but moved on to original music shortly after. Their collective experience has led to the release of two full studio albums with no end in sight.

Giancarlo & The Scarfones are set to play a number of rockin’ shows across the Niagara region in the fall to celebrate the release of the new album. Tour dates are listed below:
