“As a bi-racial child, I grew up without a firm concept of where I fit in. I felt like an outsider when I would go to the Hindu temple growing up, and was also a gifted, nerdy kid in school on the fringes of the cool kids. I realize now that my uniqueness is a strength, and that every experience of not fitting in has shaped who I am today. In fact, it is the fuel that feeds the fire of my creative pursuits and how I define myself as part of the greater whole.”
Her upcoming album Remember Who You Are, to be released later this year, is a tribute to resilience, self-discovery, and being seen. The upcoming single captures the joy of realizing that we’re each meant to be exactly who we are, with all our unique colors and edges.
